CareMaSym FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers for care teams setting up rotas, shifts, visits and payroll-ready records.

Create schedule creates a care visit: who is receiving care, who is attending, what type of care is due, and the visit time. Create shift creates the carer working duty: who is on duty, where they are working, start/end time, break rules and payroll readiness.

Yes. A shift is the working window, such as Sarah working 07:00-19:00. Scheduled visits sit inside it, such as 09:00 personal care, 10:30 medication, and 14:00 welfare check.

Use Create shift, choose the carer, unit, date, start time and end time, then add break minutes and whether the break is paid. For example, 07:00-19:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break produces 11.5 paid hours.

Published shifts over 12 paid hours are flagged for payroll review. Payroll can also warn when scheduled shift time is being used because clock-in/out attendance has not been closed.

Create a schedule when you are planning direct care for a service user. That visit feeds the carer mobile app, service user timeline, care notes, medication prompts, delivered care evidence and contact-time payroll.

Create a shift when you need to show that a carer is working a duty block, especially for residential homes, units, staffing coverage, breaks, sleep-ins, waking nights and payroll attendance.
